Day 13: well this is bull...

Significant moment of the day: I'm a Taurus, now?
Yea. Thanks to the constant changing of the earth's rotation, I am no longer a Gemini, but a Taurus. Today, I'm combining both sections of the blog to focus on this issue, since it appears I am going through an identity crisis. I mean, as a Gemini, i already have a split personality, right? So, why is the universe  making me split my personality again? Haven't i been through enough?Preposterous.
Then again, I'm really not one for horoscopes and astrological signs to begin with. Especially because i find if there is one posted in the back of a magazine, there must be thousands of other readers all with the same fortune/future/plans...so how can it really be significant to me? Not to mention, after I read one which is outdated, to say the month before, I look for clues or possible events they could signify. In conclusion, I think horoscopes are a bit of a waste of time, and in essence its kind of grasping at straws to understand your life and the events within it, when in all honesty you could stop thinking about how your life will be affected and just live it. Not to mention, with the personality traits assigned to each, a personcan usually take any sign and then manipulate it to sound like their personality.

For those of you who haven't figured out what "sign" you are now, here's a guide:

Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18- May 13
Taurus: May 13- June 21
Gemini: June 21- July 20
Cancer: July 20- Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10- Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16- Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30- Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23- Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29- Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17- Jan. 20

Congratulations to my friends born between Nov. 29-Dec.17. You are no longer Sagittarius, but Ophiuchus...which sounds like a mouth ointment. Good luck to you in your new life, and may the mass-generalized daily horoscopes treat you nicely. For the record, some traits of those born in the sign of Ophiuchus are said to be honest, intellectual, sexually magnetic, prone to change and of course, jealous. So go get em you smart, sexually magnetic beast who is honestly jealous of the changes made the past few days. You go do it up nice. But beware. Mercury is creepin on the 15th so tread lightly.
Anywhooo, if i'm going to question the fascination in astrological signs and generally doubt the overly emphasized system, i should at least know where i stand in it. Which draws me to my next query....what am I? A stubborn bull...or a split personality? Here are the two descriptions. You tell me which one you think I fit into better. By tomorrow's post, I will reveal which name fits which description, to figure out what sign I really am. I really hope someone responds. hem hem.

OR
I mean, if we were going by these two images...
Here's the first one:
Individuals born under the sign enjoy being around other people, and they don't like being alone. While many people view them as fun to be with, others may see people with _____ traits as being shallow and superficial. They tend to be very eloquent and witty conversationalists; this is a good thing because they are usually quite talkative individuals. They thrive on novel experiences and constantly seek opportunities to try new things. The versatility aspect of typical ____ traits means that people born under this sign are usually adept at multi-tasking. They thrive on juggling numerous priorities and projects, and they really aren't happy unless they're working on several things simultaneously. On the downside, they can easily become bored, and aren't great at concentrating on a single project for a long period of time. They become restless when there isn't enough change and excitement, and there's nothing a _____ hates more than feeling stuck in a rut. When ___  get bored with a project, they're known to just stop working on it so they can focus on something else that catches their attention.
And then there's:
As a fixed sign, ____ is persistent and determined. As an earth sign, _____ has a double-dose of this stubborn trait and a refusal to accept change. Mix in a smidgen of the Midas Touch for making money and the cliché image of a playboy or playgirl is soon begging to be added to the list of traits. _____ are either in the pursuit of love or have found love. You may run into an occasional _____ who denies how important love is to him, but it's rare to find a cynic. Earning, accumulating and spending money are all traits, and he knows how to do all three quite well. Along with his appreciation for art, ___ has a very critical eye. Unfortunately, he doesn't always learn how to refrain from voicing his opinions on how you should do things to make it perfect. _____ finds validation and comfort in the accumulation of material possessions. Just like their home, these are the things that keep them grounded and are physical representations of their accomplishments.
So yea. There's that.

Also, while you're judging betwixt those two statements, if you are STILL bored, you should log onto this website and vote for the design contest I entered earlier this week. For those of you who don't know, Lauren Willig's new book The Orchid Affair. Lauren Willig is a historical fiction author who writes the Pink Carnation series (which TOA is apart of). The Pink Carnation series focuses on life in 1803 England/France and the league of aristocratic spies trying to thwart Napoleon in his plans to invade England.
Yes, in case you haven't picked up on it the past two weeks I am a nerd.
Anyways the new book is coming out on the 20th, and this contest was to design a bag to signify the book. Whoever wins gets a signed copy of the book in the winning tote bag. The two runners-up get these bags as well. Since I am a poor college student, it would be awesome to get a free copy of the book...and a free bag as well. Currently, my entry is in third place, and I'd like to keep it there (or above), thank you! So if you want to help a girl out, vote for #11. but don't vote for #12, its blowing me out of the water.
Here's the link: scroll to the bottom and leave your top choice and two others if you would like

That's all for now. May the Ophiuchus be with you!
